The SludgeHammer Solution
How can I get a
SludgeHammer?
-
Call NET Septic at
(360) 923-1080. We have several dealers in WA
and we will either refer you to your local dealer or
schedule an evaluation ourselves.
-
Your
NET Septic evaluation is confidential.
-
We identify problems and
discuss options
for prolonging the life of your septic system.
If SludgeHammer cannot help your system we will tell you
right up front.
-
Next, schedule a
time to
install your SludgeHammer. A
maintenance contract allows us to come back once or
twice per
year to be sure things are working as expected.
-
Enjoy peace of mind knowing you have
advanced 21st
Century's bio-technology protecting your
septic system & the environment.

FACT: The US -
Environmental Protection Agency estimates
95% of drain-fields fail from Biomat (slime) buildup in the drain-field.
SludgeHammer
cures the slime problem!
- We first inspect the tank
(usually requires pumping) to be sure the tank is in good
condition.
- If there is no access riser we can retrofit one.
- Then
we lower the SludgeHammer into your tank,
- Next we connect the air
line and put the economical air pump in its weatherproof
basin.
- Finally the "bug bag" is placed inside the
SludgeHammer and we turn the air pump on.
- Typically we check the system once a year
and replace the bug
bag.
The power is in the biology instead of the technology.

GREEN STRIPES and other signs
of trouble:
- Green stripes are often an indicator that biomat
(slime) is building up in the drain-field and the effluent
is raising to where the grass roots can
now get at it. Raising sewage makes the
grass grow extra long.
- After the green stripe, a mushy wet
spot or spongy lawn is followed by surfacing sewage.
- However,
not all drain-fields exhibit green stripes before they
fail.
- Slow draining
plumbing is another classic indicator of pending
trouble but a blocked pipe inside the house should be ruled
out before assuming this is caused by
a plugged drainfield.
- Often the above problems will be
accompanied by septic smells, but smells could
also be due to an indoor plumbing problem not related to
the drainfield.
- If you suspect septic trouble
contact NET Septic or any reputable professional for a thorough evaluation.

Old Fashioned Repair (20th Century)

Typical Biomat slime that kills
all
drain-fields Typical Repair
is Expensive with Landscape Damage
SludgeHammer is your 21st Century Solution!
Hoodsport, WA This beautiful
Japanese Garden was saved because SludgeHammer restored the
drainfield percolation rate.
Water was starting to back up but we reversed the
plugging process. These happy homeowners got to keep their
gravity-flow septic system for a mere fraction of what their
neighbor paid for their traditional repair. A traditional
repair would have obliterated the garden costing thousands extra in
landscape restoration.
Ecosystem
Approach
-
We
put Nature's own ecosystem process to work in your septic tank &
drainfield. For millions of years Nature has efficiently digested human & animal
wastes with microbes in the
leaf-litter zone.
SludgeHammer uses a blend of 5 natural microbes and puts
the natural ecosystem process to work for you.
-
Natural Microbes & high Dissolved Oxygen restore the soil's "perk"
to get your drainfield working
again.
-
Effective fecal coliform Reductions Up
to 98.6% fecal coliform
reductions without chemicals or UV.
-
Eliminate Stream Siltation & Landscape Damage
from traditional installations. Skip the dump truck
& backhoe. Two guys with two shovels need need
just two hours to install a SludgeHammer.

Advantages
-
Restores / Recovers: Grease-Plugged Drainfields,
Sand Filters, Mounds, RV Dump Stations
and
more...
-
21st vs. 19th Century Technology. Aerobic Treatment
Units (ATUs) date
back 100 years. Sand Filters are 120 years old (that's the year
1890). We are 100-years
ahead of the rest!
-
Retrofit instead of Replace
your septic. Less expensive, more
effective.
-
Low Power Consumption.
60 watts instead of the typical 200 to 500 watts.
-
1:7 Cost Ratio Typical SludgeHammer $4,000
vs. typical waterfront repair $30,000.
-
Fully Scalable from single home up
to either S-STEP (STEP sewer) or Municipal WW projects.
Recognized

of failed drainfields)
-

treating wastewater before discharge to marine waters)
-
WA State Remediation RS&G
(2007, WA State

*The
< 10-PPM Total Nitrogen (TN) figures for SludgeHammer is a high
estimate. Usually we get less than 1-PPM. Nitrogen issues are
a little complex, but the bottom line is we beat the performance of
anything out there on a cost analysis basis.
Unfortunately regulatory-recognition for soil-based denitrification
in WA State is slowly being recognized. However, your local Health
Department has the capability to recognize our unique methods
through a "Class B Waiver" process. We now have several new
ways to handle the nitrogen issue, depending on the situation and
particular site needs. The denitrification advances we have
achieved in the last several year are revolutionizing how we deal
with septic nitrogen.
**
The Washington Administrative Code (WAC
246-272A-0110-5) states "treatment levels used in these
rules are not intended to be applied as field compliance
standards..." (emphasis added)
***
Normally SludgeHammer costs $21/month to maintain but for TMDL
projects final operating cost will be heavily dependant on Government requirements.
*^*
These figures for SludgeHammer are measured in the tank,
just like the ATU figures. For both ATU and SludgeHammer 12
to 24" of soil in the drainfield typically reduces the fecal
coliform load to essentially zero (non-detect) which is better
than most Waste Water Treatment Plant discharges.
TMDL=Total Maximum
Daily Load Is a regulatory requirement
that is being applied to many bodies of water, such as Hood Canal and
Puget Sound. The Federal Clean Water Act is the driving
force behind TMDL requirements for your area. Your
Local Health Department is tasked with enforcing this law and is
required to ask for citizen input.
