Introducing Zero-Risk Septic Tank Inspections!

  • The recommendation to pump your tank every 2 to 4 years is not necessarily good advice.

  • Pumping a tank to often will result in elevated amounts of solids passing into your drain-field (trust me this is not good for the life of your drain-field.)

  • Scientific research indicates that most tanks do not need to be pumped but once every 12 to 14 years!  (family of 3 with 1000 gallon septic tank).  And it takes about 3 years for a tank to recover from a pump-out!

  • I use a "Sludge Judge" to actually see the contents of your tank.  Using a shovel or a terry cloth towel on a stick just doesn't cut it.  Your Certified Monitoring Specialist (CMS) should be using a Sludge Judge to inspect your tanks.

  • I inspect your tank for $95 and generate a "Monitoring Report" which is accepted by Thurston & Mason Counties.  A pumper report or a report from a CMS may be required for O&M permit renewal.

  • If I find your tank does need to be pumped - you pay me nothing!

  • You will know if your tank really needs to be pumped.

  • I do not guarantee that your tank does not need to be pumped; but if it does I do not charge you for my inspection.  This is not a guaranteed service, I do not pay for tank pumping.  Depending upon how long it has been since pumping I may recommend you just call a pumper and get it pumped.

  • It costs about $300 to pump a tank.  Your potential savings is $205.

  • Excavating tank lids is extra - usually $65 to $100 depending upon how deep they are buried.  Most tanks have those green lids to the surface so there is no extra charge if you have green lids.
