Fran Morse, 1960 (mom)
Camp Stehekin
Where I
attended First Grade - Stehekin WA. In that era we used an outhouse.
For many residences, running water meant running to the creek.

Randall Morse, 1961 (dad) Stan Morse (brother)

a ski accident December 31, 1970. Stan's story is
incredible and inspiring, it makes a wonderful gift for anyone facing
challenges including life in general. It will make you cry, it will make you laugh. Stan's

Green Quote: There is intense public
interest for recycling & reclaiming wastewater but it has been
economically out of our reach requiring enormously expensive
wastewater-plant projects. SludgeHammer makes Wastewater Reclamation a
practical reality for the individual homeowner. Ken Morse, July
2008
Green Quote: Every now and then
there is a paradigm shift - somebody makes a discovery which
changes the whole picture. Penicillin was such a
discovery which allows doctors to recover a patient's leg
instead of amputating it because of infection.
SludgeHammer is such
a discovery and now we can recover a drainfield instead of
having to replace it.
Furthermore,
SludgeHammer is effective for point-of-use water reclamation;
which must become our highest priority in terms of what we do
with wastewater. Ken Morse

Green Quote: If we want to restore what we have taken from
nature, we will have to learn from nature how to give it back.
Ken Morse, January 2008
Green Quote:
We have not inherited the earth from our fathers, we are borrowing
it from our children...
Native American Saying
Green Quote:
Now that we can make a septic tank safe enough for fish, just
imagine what that will enable us to do for the environment!"
Ken Morse, August 2005
Green
Quote: The
Big Problem with Wastewater is that we continue to Waste it! Now we have no more excuses. SludgeHammer
is a 21st Century Ecosystem
Process allowing us to safely & economically "use
it" instead of "loose it". We must discard our "throw away
mentality" from the 20th
Century or continue to suffer the consequences. Ken Morse, July 2008
Green Quote: Why replace
it, when all you need to do is restore it? Ken Morse,
August 2005
Green Quote:
The issues of water and wastewater are no longer a function
of "how much" we use but of "how much we re-use". The
public is far ahead of the Legislature and Regulators.
Everywhere I go people are mystified when they learn that
the regulations make water re-use a practical impossibility.
New technologies are prohibited and there is no Statewide
field-compliance standard. Washington State's on-site code
is the biggest hindrance to economical water re-use and we
are visibly trailing other more progressive States. Ken
Morse, January 2, 2009
Green-Quote: Allowing new technologies like
SludgeHammer is entirely within the scope of the Political &
Regulatory process. It is good Public Health policy to allow
the most cost effective solution with the least
restrictive regulations possible.... Ken Morse, January
2008.
Green Concept: To reach the Federal Clean Water Act's TMDL goals it is NOT
necessary to enforce the most stringent standards possible, just
take a look at the Pollutant Load Reduction studies and you will see what %
reduction is necessary. The overall impact of SludgeHammer can
exceed required reductions through a "remediation" approach
instead of a "treatment" approach. SludgeHammer is
by far the most cost effective approach available.
"Saving The World"
by Brooke Fraser
Didn't I tell
you everything's fine?
If there's a good and bad we're somewhere in between
Often I feel like we're all navigating blind
Could we get a change of pace to set the scene
We could stay
another day in this confusion
Let it permeate us 'till we can't on
[Chorus]
But while we're waiting we could try saving the world
Or are we storing that up for a raining day?
I'm anticipating the time when it'll be my turn
It could be fun to try
I think that I'll save the world as a fun afternoon activity...
Ecosystem Process
(Definition):
The physical, chemical and biological actions or events that
link organisms and their environment. Ecosystem processes
include decomposition, production [of plant matter], nutrient
cycling, and fluxes of nutrients and energy.
